Each family has different hopes and dreams. While some families are hoping to adopt young children, others are open to older children or to children who might have certain medical conditions. Although all of the children we place are special, for some it is imperative that we find “Forever Families” soon. These children are not necessarily “special needs” children, but rather may have been overlooked for adoption when they were a younger age, either because of their gender (male) or age. Some of them may have been sickly or unhealthy when they were born, but have recovered and are now in good health. Some of them may have been orphaned after their infancy, when they are harder to place, and some we want to place before they are transferred to another orphanage (as happens from time to time, as they get older).
We are very committed not only to helping every child we can, but also to providing support, experience and expertise to our adoptive families and assuring that any match of adoptive parents and child creates a beneficial situation for all involved, including any other children already in the home. We know that children do not benefit from being placed with families who are not in the position to care for their needs, so we approach these matches very carefully.
We feel that we, as an agency working to find families for needy children, have a duty to make special efforts to place these children who are not as easy to place, and we would encourage anyone who may be interested in older children, or children who may not have started life with their best foot forward, to contact us to find out more about these children.
We have so many heart-warming stories of older children or children with medical issues who have found their forever families and have been given the incredible opportunities available in our country. Many of these children suffer from conditions that can be readily addressed in the United States with medication, physical therapy or surgery, and most treatment required will be covered by group insurance policies.
We will keep a list of these children who are waiting for families and we encourage you to contact us with questions for their background and medical history.

KidsFirst has funds available through the KidsFirst Foundation to assist those families who hope to adopt these children. Families would need to submit an application to the Board of KidsFirst Foundation and grants will be given on the family-to-family basis.
We feel that we, as an agency working to find families for Russian children, have a duty to make special efforts to place these children who are not as easy to place, and we would encourage anyone who may be interested in older children, or children who may not have started life with their best foot forward, to contact us to find out more about these children. We have medical information and videotapes for all of these children, and we are always happy to obtain more information if necessary.
